While keeping our crew busy this winter as we awaited spring building permits, we discovered a vast untapped market-small jobs for people who are sick of unreliable, unprofessional, and unsavory contractors. We’ve been flooded with requests, mostly from old friends, to do smaller jobs. We use the proceeds to fund our charitable work. We discovered a great niche, and are proud to officially announce a new division of Community Building Works! Inc.

(Our E.D. is a nationally-recognized trainer, a master builder with a Cornell Architecture background, and has 39 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and teaching, both at the local and at the international level.) Wouldn’t it be great if the workers were actually insured—not just liability, disability, and workmen’s comp, but also health insurance—yet still charged a more-than-fair price? We’re well-equipped and well-experienced pros, and we’re all proud members of the Ithaca Green Building Alliance. Since we’re trained homebuilders, we can do and (have done) virtually anything—foundations, framing, roofs, insulation, siding, windows and doors, decks, trim, bathrooms, kitchens, additions . . .we have a file bursting full of testimonials from satisfied customers.
