Joe Decker, President

Joe is a community pharmacist who lives and works in the Ithaca, NY area. He has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a researcher and in the computer field as a system/network/web administrator. He graduated from Union University's Albany College of Pharmacy in 1983.

He has used the many skills he's learned while volunteering for CBW! to build an amazing dog house and is greatly vexed by his two dogs stubborn refusal to use it...

Mica French

My first love is of my 6 children and have been a proud stay-at-home mom for most of their childhood. I also have a strong passion for community involvement. I have volunteered with the Shelter for Abused Children, assisted in coordinating a bone marrow drive with the National Bone Marrow Registry, assisted in coordinating fundraising for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and most recently volunteered at an orphanage in Rabat, Morocco.

I have a BS in Computer Information Science from Augusta State University. Prior to moving to the Ithaca area, 10 years ago, I was the Analyst/Programmer for Safe Communities/Safe Kids Coalition of Augusta. Currently, in conjunction with John Area, I am developing an iPhone application to track stock market trends. I also have resumed freelance web design.

I am honored to serve on the Community Building Works! Board

Guillermo Metz

Guillermo is the Green Building and Renewable Energy Program Coordinator at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County (NY). His background includes several years as a carpenter and builder, a longer stint as a writer and editor for a variety of publications, and time spent working behind lab benches, bookshelves, and pastry tables. He and his wife moved to Ithaca in 1997 with designs for a strawbale house in their heads and began building their house in 2000. That experience showed Guillermo the remarkable strength of community building—building something with an entire community of helpers, from people swinging hammers (and pounding bales into place) to others who provided guidance and support. They are eternally grateful and he is thrilled to be engaging and inspiring the next generation(s) of green builders.

Gideon Stone

Gideon Stone is the owner and operator of Duwazo Design Build in Ithaca, where he lives with his wife, Katie. Having worked for CBW in the past, as a Cornell fellow and subsequently, as a project manager and member of the 2Good2BTru Crew, he has recently rejoined the organization as a member of the board of directors. As an alumnus of Cornell and a member of the Ithaca community, Gideon hopes to further develop a tie between the university and other institutions and organizations throughout the community. He is excited about the opportunity to give back to CBW! and is looking forward to the work ahead.

Greg Yetsko

Greg has had a varied career that included stints as a paramedic, welder, builder, and cabinetmaker. He ran a successful wood-working business in Ithaca for eight year prior to joining Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services three years ago as a construction coordinator. He has since become expert in Green Building techniques, is well-versed in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certifications and practices.
